Cooking method

Cooking time: 15 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1

Gather all the ingredients you'll need for the bell pepper, crab stick, and tomato salad. Thaw the crab sticks first if needed. Do this in the fridge, not at room temperature. And make sure the packaging isn't damaged - that will save you from unpleasant consequences.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2

Cut the crab sticks into thin strips and put them in a bowl.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3

Wash and wipe the bell pepper, since excess water speeds up spoilage. Remove the stem and seeds. Cut it into quarters and slice it diagonally into thin strips. Add it to the bowl with the crab sticks.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4

Peel the garlic and grate it on a fine grater. But it's best to chop the garlic very finely. Chopped this way, the garlic doesn't release oil and stays sharp and fragrant rather than bitter. And of course, adjust the amount of heat to your taste.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5

Wash the tomato, wipe it, and cut it into strips. Choose dense, fleshy tomatoes with as few seeds as possible. Add the chopped tomato to the bowl with the vegetables and crab sticks.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6

Grate the cheese on a coarse grater and add it to the salad bowl. You can use any cheese to taste - the sharper the cheese, the brighter the salad's flavor.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7

Add mayonnaise, salt, and mix. If you don't like mayonnaise or can't have it, add sour cream or thick plain yogurt. Or you can dress it with a mix of vegetable oil, soy sauce, and lemon juice.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8

Our bell pepper, crab stick, and tomato salad is ready. Portion it into bowls or serve it family-style. Enjoy.

  • Although this salad seems light at first glance, there are a few things to keep in mind. Salt this salad right before serving, because once salted, the vegetables quickly release juice and the salad loses its appeal. It's better to remove the seeds after slicing the tomato - the salad looks neater without them. If you can't get crab sticks, you can replace them with crab meat. And if you don't like salads cut into strips, feel free to cut everything into medium cubes.
