Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Prepare the ingredients for ranch sauce. The composition is simple, there are always products for it in every home. Sour cream is used for the base, it can be replaced with mayonnaise with buttermilk. Mustard powder, garlic, pepper, salt, paprika and herbs to taste are added to the sauce: onion, parsley or dill. The taste of the sauce with the addition of a sprig of basil turns out to be interesting.
Step 2:
A mixture of green onions, parsley and dill is used as spicy herbs for ranch sauce. The greens are thoroughly washed, dried with paper towels. Finely chop the parsley and dill with a knife.
Step 3:
Finely chop the green onion with a knife. To create a special pleasant aftertaste, you can add a couple of basil leaves. Instead of fresh herbs, you can use dried herbs, but in the first version, the sauce will turn out to be more tender and fragrant.
Step 4:
Garlic cloves are cleaned from the husk, finely chopped with a knife, grated or passed through a press. Instead of fresh garlic, you can use garlic powder. Add garlic and a pinch of mustard powder to the sour cream base, mix thoroughly again.
Step 5:
In a bowl we put sour cream, necessarily thick. In the original recipe, buttermilk and mayonnaise are more often used. Buttermilk is a fermented milk product similar in consistency to thick yogurt. Buttermilk can be found in the store in the form of a powder that needs to be diluted with water to obtain a sauce. It is better to use mayonnaise with a neutral taste. Add herbs, garlic. Add mustard powder, salt, ground black pepper, paprika, add a little sugar to balance the taste.
Step 6:
Mix everything thoroughly. To give the sauce a pleasant sour taste, add a little lemon juice to it. Instead of lemon juice, you can use vinegar: balsamic, apple or wine. Mix the mass. We let it cool down a little in the refrigerator and serve it to the table as a dressing for salad or hot. Bon appetit!
