American-Style Potato Salad
A simple American salad made from everyday ingredients. Even a beginner cook can make this American-style potato salad. The catch is that while it's very easy to put together, it needs to chill for at least 6 hours. You can serve it the usual way in a bowl, or on toast points or fresh lettuce leaves.

- Boil the potatoes in their skins and hard-boil the eggs. Let them cool, then peel and cut them into large cubes.
- Peel the onion and cut it into small dice. Dice the pickles and celery the same way, keeping the pieces about the same size.
- Combine the prepared ingredients in a deep bowl, dress with the mayonnaise, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cover the salad and refrigerate it for at least 6 hours.
