Cooking method

1. Potatoes, carrots and beets are thoroughly washed, then boiled until fully cooked, cooled and cleaned. Eggs are also boiled hard boiled and peeled from the shell.

2. Onions are cut into rings, the thinner the better. Pour hot water and vinegar into a bowl, pour sugar, mix the marinade and put the onion in it. Leave for 30-40 minutes.

3. Peel the herring, remove all the bones, cut the fillet into cubes. Carrots, potatoes, beets and eggs are cleaned, grated, laid out on separate plates.

4. Pour gelatin into a bowl, pour hot water, add mayonnaise, mix until completely homogeneous.

5. We fill the beets with mayonnaise, add a little salt, mix, put the first layer into the mold (I take silicone molds). The next layer is made from carrots, filling it with mayonnaise like beets. Then we spread the grated egg, pickled onion and herring. We finish the salad with potatoes seasoned with mayonnaise. Each layer is well tamped, they should lie tightly to each other.

6. We send the salad molds to the refrigerator for 3 hours.

7. Portioned molds are transferred to a dish, decorated with a sprig of parsley and served on the table.
