Beef Soup with Halushky (Dumplings)
Bring back that sunny soup from childhood — make it and enjoy! For as long as I can remember, my mom always made me eat soup, and I just as stubbornly refused to like it. But there was one exception to the rule: soup with halushky (Ukrainian drop dumplings). That one always looked appetizing to me. Let's revisit this delicious dish and treat our families to a Ukrainian soup with meat and dumplings!

- Boil the piece of beef in lightly salted water, carefully skimming off all the foam as it cooks. Add the allspice and a whole peeled onion to the broth. 2. Make the dough with herbs so the dumplings come out fragrant. In a deep bowl, beat in the egg, pour in the milk, press in the garlic, and add a generous amount of fragrant dried herbs. Mix everything together, work in the flour, and mix again. You don't want a stiff dough — it should be thick and sticky. 3. Lift the cooked meat out of the broth and cut it into pieces. It's best to strain the broth. 4. Using a spoon, drop the dough into the boiling liquid. Cook the dumplings until done — just a few minutes (they'll float to the surface) — adding the pieces of meat back to the soup. Serve garnished with fresh herbs. Enjoy!
