- Choose a wide platter, lay down a bed of lettuce, and build the "Sunflower" on top from your prepped ingredients, spreading each layer with mayonnaise: 1. The first layer is finely chopped cooked meat — use whatever you like: poultry, pork, or beef. When you cook the meat, remember to salt the water and add a bay leaf and peppercorns. 2. For the second layer, add the finely chopped mushrooms and onion sautéed in sunflower oil; season with salt as you fry them. 3. The third layer is finely chopped pickles. 4. The fourth layer is grated egg whites. 5. The fifth layer is chopped prunes — soak the dried fruit in hot water for about 20 minutes first. 6. The sixth layer is grated hard cheese. 7. The final layer is finely grated egg yolks. Spread mayonnaise on every layer except the last. Now decorate the salad: arrange potato chips around the edge of the platter and black olives in the center. Let the "Sunflower" chill (1–2 hours in the refrigerator), then dig in! Enjoy!
