Sunflower Layered Salad with Pineapple

Make this legendary salad with its one-of-a-kind flavor! It's pretty rare for a dish's taste to live up to its bright, beautiful presentation — but the "Sunflower" salad is exactly that kind of dish. It's a genuinely practical, original idea made from everyday ingredients. Here I tweak the classic recipe a little by adding pineapple. You've got to try it!

  • Prep the salad components: peel the tomatoes and finely chop them with a sharp knife; boil the eggs, peel them, and grate the whites and yolks separately on the fine holes of a grater; thinly slice the chicken. Build the salad in this order: meat, tomatoes, egg whites, corn, pineapple, egg yolks. The key is not to overdo the mayonnaise — spread each layer lightly, or the salad will slide apart. Turn the finished salad into a "Sunflower" using potato chips for the petals and black olives for the center. Refrigerate the dish for at least an hour. Enjoy the one-of-a-kind taste of this legendary salad!
