Sprouted Wheat Porridge
Healthy food can be wonderfully delicious—give this one a try! A doctor I know recommended I start eating sprouted wheat. At first I just tossed it into salads, but that wasn't enough, so I turned it into porridge. To my surprise, it came out tasting great. Now our whole family often has it for breakfast, since it's not only good for you but truly satisfying, too.

- Rinse the wheat thoroughly and soak it in cool water for 8 hours. 2. Rinse it again, drain, then spread it out in a shallow dish, level it, and cover with a deeper plate on top. I leave the wheat like this overnight. 3. By morning you should see little white sprouts. If there aren't any yet, let the wheat sit a while longer. 4. Mix the rolled oats with the sprouted wheat. 5. Pour in a cup of water and stir in the mixture. Bring to a boil, then let it sit for 15–20 minutes. 6. Finish the porridge with a pat of butter. You can also add berries or jam, honey, fruit, or chopped nuts—whatever you like. Enjoy!
