- Sift the pea flour through a sieve. Melt the butter in a heavy-bottomed pot and stir in the flour. Cook, stirring, for about 15 minutes until it turns light brown. In a separate pot, heat the milk with the sugar and cook it into a syrup; it's ready when it pulls into threads. Stir in the nuts and shredded coconut, then pour the syrup into the flour mixture. Cook over low heat until thickened. Take it off the heat and spread it onto a plate, leveling it to about 3/4 inch (2 cm) thick. Cut into squares. Once fully set, decorate with coconut and almonds.
