Kulich Easter Salad

A creative salad for the Easter table! This salad will wow your guests and family with how it looks — the resemblance to a kulich (Easter bread) is uncanny. It's hearty, juicy, and tasty, made with foods traditional to the Easter table: eggs, cheese, and meat.

Cooking method

  1. Step 1:

    Boil the chicken breast and potato. Peel the onion and carrot.

    Dice the onion and fry it in vegetable oil.

    Add the carrot, grated on the coarse side of a box grater, and cook everything for 2 minutes. Add the boiled chicken breast, cut into small pieces, to the carrot. Season with salt and pepper.

    Combine the mayonnaise (30 g) with the minced garlic.

    Cut the tomatoes into thin rounds.

    Hard-boil the eggs and grate them on the coarse side of a box grater.

    Grate the cheese and the boiled potato on the coarse grater and mix them with the garlic mayonnaise.

    Set a ring mold in the center of a plate (or use a 500 ml tin can with both ends cut off). Layer the salad into the mold, spreading each layer with a thin coat of mayonnaise and pressing it down with a spoon. Order of layers: the carrot mixture, eggs, tomatoes, then the potato-cheese layer.

    Carefully lift off the mold.

    Mound any remaining ingredients on top. Coat all sides with a thin layer of mayonnaise and press breadcrumbs onto the sides of the salad. Drizzle the rest of the mayonnaise over the top to mimic the glaze of a kulich.

    Garnish with diced tomato, green onion, and pieces of cheese to imitate the colorful sprinkles on a kulich. Spell out letters cut from tomato slices. Enjoy!
