  • Put the strawberries and strawberry leaves in the water (you can add a few black currant leaves too). Bring to a boil and simmer for 15–20 minutes. Let it steep for 7 hours (I boiled it in the evening and let it sit overnight). Strain, then add the sugar and citric acid. Bring everything to a boil, skim off the foam, and let it cool. Dilute the cooked syrup with the vodka, stir, and have a taste. For me, 1 liter of vodka is a lot—I add a bit less, but that's purely a personal call. Adjust it to your own taste: some like more, some like less.
