Step 1:
Peel the pears, leaving the stems. Cut off a little pulp at the base so that the pears are more stable.
Step 2:
Pour the wine into a large saucepan, add sugar, cinnamon, cloves, orange juice and zest. Heat over low heat until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Step 3:
Carefully put the pears in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Cover with a lid, turn down the heat and cook for 15-20 minutes, until soft. Arrange the pears on plates and serve with ice cream. You can pour the syrup in which the pears were cooked.
