This cake got its name from the chocolate bar of the same name. That means the classic recipe for a Snickers cake should have the same products in the filling: soft caramel, nuts and nougat (or something like it). But in practice it turns out not everything is so simple, because there are dozens of different recipes for this cake. And each has a different set of ingredients, filling included.
The five most commonly used ingredients in Snickers cake recipes:
| Product | Calories per 100g | Protein g per 100g | Fats g per 100g | Carbohydrates g per 100g |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Butter | 734 | 0.5 | 82.5 | 0.8 |
| Sugar | 398 | 0 | 0 | 99.7 |
| Peanuts | 568 | 26.3 | 45.5 | 9.9 |
| Boiled condensed milk | 328 | 7.2 | 8.5 | 55.5 |
| Flour | 325 | 12 | 1 | 67 |
Some people add boiled condensed milk instead of caramel, whipped with butter until fluffy. You can take different nuts to get a taste different from the previous version. Add cookies or waffles, meringues, cream or sour cream. And you can make the layers on shortcrust or sponge dough. Perhaps the only thing that unites the different Snickers cake recipes is that in its finished form it comes out taller than others. That's thanks to the fillings that soak into the cake, besides the usual cream.
By the way, the layers can be chocolate or not — that is, some people add cocoa and others don't. It's the same with the creams. There are versions where several kinds of different layers are baked: white, chocolate, cream. So when choosing, it's recommended to look carefully at a cross-section of the cake and study the makeup of the products: whether it suits you or not.

The simplest way to decorate this cake is to pour icing over it. And you don't have to cover the whole surface — you can make drips down the sides or a lattice on top. And sprinkle it with roasted chopped nuts, ideally peanuts, since those go into the original Snickers. Otherwise the decoration can be anything, depending on your imagination: shaped cream from a pastry bag, pieces of a chocolate bar, small cookies, candies, jelly, fresh berries, sponge crumbs, mirror glaze, fondant, whipped cream, egg whites with powdered sugar, meringues, stringy caramel and so on.
