- Make the dough. Beat the eggs with the sugar, add the softened butter, and pour in the milk. Add the salt and the slaked baking soda, sift in the flour, and knead into a firm dough. Divide it into equal pieces (sized to your skillet), roll each out thin, and cook on both sides in a dry covered skillet. Trim the cooled layers to an even round. 2. Make the cream. Bring the milk to a boil. Beat the eggs with the sugar and pour them into the boiling milk (the eggs will curdle — that's fine). Take it off the heat and let it cool. Once it's completely cool, beat in the softened butter until the mixture doubles in volume, then mix in the condensed milk and vanilla. 3. Spread cream over the layers (including the top one) and stack the cake. Crush the trimmings and press them onto the sides. Decorate the top with peanuts. Let this masterpiece soak in the fridge for at least 4 hours, then put the kettle on!
