Homemade McDonald's-Style Cheeseburgers
Don't scroll past — these are sooo good, and the whole family will love them. It's not the official recipe, but I want to share how I make mine. My cheeseburgers win everyone over — and I say that without any false modesty. Give them a try; you're sure to love them!
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Cut the buns in half and toast them cut-side down in a dry, hot skillet until golden. Add the egg, salt, pepper, and breadcrumbs to the ground beef and mix well. Now form the patties. To make them as neat and even as possible, I used a wide-mouth jar lid — I greased it with vegetable oil and pressed the meat into it.
-
Step 2:
Then I tapped the patty out of the lid onto a flat surface lined with plastic wrap and put it in the freezer for 20 minutes. After that I fried them on both sides until done.
-
Step 3:
Chop the onion VERY finely and marinate it in a mix of vinegar and boiling water for 15 minutes, then drain off the liquid. Mix the mustard and ketchup together in a small bowl. Slice the pickle into thin rounds. Now assemble the cheeseburgers: spread the mustard-ketchup mix on the top bun and scatter the pickled onion over it.
-
Step 4:
Lay a slice of cheese on top, then set a hot patty over it. Place a lettuce leaf on the patty, underside up, and cover with the bottom bun.
-
Step 5:
Flip it over. Done!
-
Step 6:
Enjoy!
