Boiled Pork Belly Roll
A pork belly roll is real man's food — hearty and garlicky! A roll made from pork belly (podcherevok) is a very tasty and very filling food. Its main advantage over factory-made sausages and deli meats is the absence of preservatives and other additives (just salt for flavor).
Cooking method

Step 1:
Get the pork belly (podcherevok), salt, garlic, and a few sprigs of fresh or dried thyme ready.

Rub the meat well with 1 tablespoon of salt.

Press the garlic through a garlic press and rub the inner side of the meat well with it.

Step 4:
Roll the pork belly up into a roll and tie it with twine.

Step 5:
Bring the water to a boil, add the rest of the salt, put the roll in the pot, and add the thyme. Once it boils, cook at a very gentle simmer for an hour to an hour and a half.

Step 6:
Cool the finished roll and set it under a weight until it cools completely. Remove the twine. Slice the roll thinly and use it for sandwiches.
