- Start by combining the ground beef and ground pork. Finely chop the onion, press in the garlic, and add both to the meat, then crack in one egg and season with mustard, salt, and pepper to taste. Mix all the ingredients together thoroughly. Over medium heat, fry a few flat patties about ¾ inch (2 cm) thick in a little oil. Once the patties are done, assemble the burgers: slice the burger buns in half, lay a lettuce leaf on the bottom, then add a patty, a layer of mayonnaise, a slice of tomato, and a slice of cheese. Cap it with the top half of the bun. Assemble the rest the same way and serve.
