Cooking time: 10 h
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make strawberries in their own juice for the winter? Prepare all the ingredients listed in the list. Choose ripe berries, without flaws and damage. To keep the strawberries in their shape, take dense berries of a small size. Note that one kilogram of strawberries is enough for two jars of 0.5 liters.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Pick the berries, remove the stems. Since strawberries are prepared without prolonged heat treatment, it is necessary to remove all crumpled, spoiled specimens. It is very important.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Rinse the strawberries thoroughly several times in cold water. Next, the berry should be dried. I put it on a kitchen towel or paper napkins and leave it that way for a while.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Send the strawberries into a deep cup. Sprinkle with granulated sugar at the rate of 300 grams of sugar per 1 kilogram of berries.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Leave the strawberries for 8-10 hours. I usually make the preparation in the evening and insist the berries all night at room temperature, covered with a light towel or gauze. If you cook during the day and the room is too hot, then put the strawberries in the shade, otherwise they will ferment. After the allotted time, a lot of juice appears and the berry literally floats in it.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Wash the jars and lids thoroughly, preferably with soda and rinse several times. Sterilize in any way convenient for you. Fill the jars with strawberries and juice. It can be applied with a slide, the berries will settle a little during sterilization. Pour a pinch of citric acid on top of each jar. The acid will serve as an excellent preservative, which will keep the workpiece longer.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Cover the jars with sterile lids. Send it to a saucepan, pour "on the shoulders " warm water and put it on high heat. Put a towel on the bottom of the pan. After boiling, reduce the heat and sterilize for 10 minutes. If you have a liter jar, then leave it to boil for 15 minutes.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Plug the jars with lids and turn the top upside down. Cover the top with a towel and leave in this way until completely cooled.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Strawberries in their own juice are ready! Store the jars in the refrigerator or in a cool cellar.

This dessert is delicious by itself. Strawberries in their own juice can also be used as a filling for pies, dumplings, pancakes and so on. Delicious and fragrant turns out jelly or mors from such berries.
