Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
How to make a Snake Salad? For salad, you can take any chicken meat, both smoked and boiled. Boil the eggs hard-boiled. Salt may not be needed, it is optional. I had Russian cheese, another one with a neutral creamy taste or your favorite will do.
Step 2:
Prepare THE DRESSING. Squeeze the garlic into the mayonnaise through a press and stir well, cover and let it infuse until the right moment in the refrigerator. Who does not like garlic, you can not add. It is advisable to make homemade mayonnaise, if it is store-bought, take it not very thick.
Step 3:
Cut the meat, eggs and pineapple into approximately the same small cubes. Grate the cheese finely. Chop the prepared nuts with a knife so that the fragments are smaller than the rest of the products, but not into small crumbs. Combine everything in a deep bowl and season with garlic mayonnaise. Garlic will only give a little piquancy, it is not particularly felt. This salad can be prepared both in layers and by mixing / a faster option/, we will choose it.
Step 4:
Since the decoration will take a considerable time from cooking, cover the salad and put it in the refrigerator. To decorate, boil quail eggs for 3-4 minutes, quickly cool with water. Cut the olives into slices and then in half. Cut the cucumbers into almost transparent circles, it will be more beautiful if you cut the halves too. For the head, take a very thin gherkin. For the crown, you need a piece of raw carrot 1.5 cm high, cut out the core with a sharp knife, then the cloves.
Step 5:
To serve, take a flat dish with a diameter of about 30 cm. With mayonnaise, apply a point contour of the snake's body location.
Step 6:
Spread the salad along the contour, forming a snake. Make the tail thinner, gradually add volume to the body, we form the head last.
Step 7:
Cover the whole snake thinly with mayonnaise, conveniently with a brush. Start decorating a thinner strip with olives from the tail, then switch to a double one, drawing a winding ridge".
Step 8:
Apply a cucumber pattern on the body. On the head, we fasten the eyes of olives, the nose, and complete the cucumber drawing from the gherkin. Place quail eggs in the center, cover the gaps of the plate with lettuce leaves or other herbs. Place a crown on your head and attach a tongue made of a thin carrot petal. Place greens near the head, too. That's it, the salad is ready for the New Year! Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate before serving.
Salads seasoned with mayonnaise are not recommended to be stored for a long time.
It is better to prepare mayonnaise yourself. It will be tastier and healthier. See here interesting
recipes for homemade mayonnaise.
Also, as a dressing, you can use not only mayonnaise, but also sour cream or natural yogurt. They can be taken separately or mixed with mayonnaise in any proportion to your taste - this will reduce the calorie content of the dish.
How to choose the right olives? It is better to buy the product in a transparent package. So you can see their appearance and color. If the olives are too black, then food dyes have been added. The fruits should be elastic, whole, with a smooth, shiny skin. Too soft, overripe olives will not be stored for a long time.
