Herring salad with apples and beetroot Rosole

    Wash beets, carrots, potatoes. Put the vegetables in a saucepan, pour cold water and put on the stove over high heat. After boiling, reduce the heat to medium and cook the vegetables under a closed lid until ready. Vegetables can also be baked in the oven. Boil the eggs separately.

    While the vegetables are cooking, prepare the rest of the products for the salad. Fillet of lightly salted herring cut into medium-sized cubes or small strips.

    Cut the pickled cucumbers in about the same way as the herring.

    Chop the onion not very large.

    When the vegetables are cooked in a saucepan, drain the boiling water and cool them. Remove the skin from boiled potatoes, beets and carrots, peel the cooled eggs as well. So that there are no small parts of the shell left on the eggs, rinse the peeled eggs under running cold water. Cut everything into cubes.

    Peel the apple, cut into squares. You can sprinkle the apple slices with lemon juice so that they do not darken. Send all components to one large container.

    Prepare the dressing. To do this, mix mustard and sour cream. Mustard is best used not spicy or grainy Dijon.

    Add the dressing to the salad and mix everything thoroughly. Let the finished dish brew for at least fifteen minutes in the refrigerator. When serving, sprinkle the salad with fresh herbs and allspice if desired.

Salad can be seasoned with mayonnaise or make a sauce of mayonnaise and mustard.

Try the ready-made "Rosolye" with salt, if it seems to you that it is not enough, then add salt to your taste. If sour apples were used in the salad, then add a pinch of sugar.

The taste of the salad resembles something between a Vinaigrette and a herring under a fur coat.

Salad can also be used as a full dinner. Herring with potatoes and egg will perfectly satisfy hunger.
