Cooking method

Cooking time: 40 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1

Pour water into a pot, add salt, and set it over the heat. When it boils, add the chicken breast and cook until tender — about 20–30 minutes. Remove the cooked breast from the broth, let it cool, and cut it into small pieces.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2

Hard-boil the eggs and keep them in cold water until completely cool. Peel and cut them into small cubes. A wire egg slicer with a grid makes quick work of this.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3

Grate the cheese on a fine grater.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4

Take a serving plate. Spread the chicken as the first layer and top with mayonnaise — pipe a grid first, then spread it smooth with a spoon.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5

Spread half the eggs as the second layer (the other half is for shaping the pig's head). Top with mayonnaise and spread it out.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6

Spread the prunes as the third layer and top with mayonnaise.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7

Add the walnuts as the fourth layer. You don't have to chop them, though you can — I used halves and quarters. Top with mayonnaise and spread it out.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8

Next, mound the reserved eggs in the part of the salad that will be the pig's head. Top with mayonnaise.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9

Sprinkle the salad all over with the grated cheese. Cut three rounds from the sausage and use them to make the snout and ears. Set them in place. Add green-pea eyes. Garnish with fresh dill. Our piggy is ready!
