Pike Fish Soup (Ukha) in a Slow Cooker
Rich, fragrant, with a deep, full fish flavor! Pike makes the most wonderful ukha. And when I make it in the slow cooker, the broth stays clear, all the aroma is locked inside, and the vegetables and fish don't fall apart. The soup turns out just like it was cooked in a clay pot in a wood oven. Make it and your family will be sure to praise it and thank you!

- Take the pike fillet, already cleaned, and cut it into serving pieces. Put it in the slow cooker bowl and cover with water. Add the peeled and chopped onion, carrot, and potatoes right away. If you don't like onion in your soup, you can cut it into quarters and fish it out of the broth once it's cooked. Set the cooker to the "Soup" setting and cook for 20 minutes. 2. Rinse the millet several times in water until the water runs clear. Millet can sometimes taste bitter, so you can also rinse it with boiling water. Add the grain to the fish and vegetables. Cook the soup for another 25 minutes. At the end, add the spices and salt. Remove the bay leaf so it doesn't turn the soup bitter. Serve the soup with sour cream and chopped fresh herbs.
