Cooking method

Step 1:
Wash the beans and trim off the ends. Cut them into pieces about 1/2 inch (1 cm) long. Cook them in salted water until soft — about 30 minutes over medium heat.

While the beans cook, peel and finely chop the garlic.

Step 3:
After 30 minutes, the beans should be soft. If not, cook them a bit longer until they are. Then add the butter, garlic, and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice (or 1 tablespoon of 5% vinegar). Cover and keep cooking.

Step 4:
Stir 30 g of flour (about 2 tablespoons) with 2 tablespoons of water until lump-free. Slowly and carefully whisk it into the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste. If you like, stir in some finely chopped parsley or dill.
