Four-Grain Oatmeal Porridge in a Slow Cooker
A healthy diet should include wholesome hot cereals — every morning, for the whole family! This porridge is considered one of the most nourishing because it brings together the goodness of all the main grains. The flakes cook up tender and fluffy, and you can enjoy them every day. It comes together quickly, and on top of a good mood and a light, satisfied feeling, it gives you a boost of energy for the whole day plus a dose of vitamins.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Get the slow cooker and ingredients ready.
-
Step 2:
Pour the water and milk into the slow cooker bowl, then add the flakes and sugar. Stir. Note: you can use plain oats instead of the grain mix if you'd rather skip the blend.
-
Step 3:
Set the cooker to the "Milk Porridge" program for 15 minutes.
-
Step 4:
Wash the apple, peel it, remove the core, and grate it on the coarse holes of a box grater.
-
Step 5:
Once the porridge comes to a boil (about 5 minutes in), add the grated apple and the cream. Stir and continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until the program ends.
-
Step 6:
Let it sit on the keep-warm setting for 10–15 minutes, then call everyone to breakfast. Serve it sprinkled with cinnamon (it's wonderful with apples), topped with fruit, drizzled with honey, or just as is. Enjoy, and have a great day!
-
Step 7:
It's delicious washed down with a glass of milk!
