- Put the farmer's cheese in a deep, roomy bowl so it's easy to mix. 2. Add the sugar and mash everything together until smooth. 3. Stir in the semolina and let it sit a while so the semolina swells. 4. After 15–20 minutes, roll the cheese mixture into a log on a floured surface and cut it into equal pieces with a sharp knife. 5. Set 1 cherry on each piece (leaving the stem on makes it even more fun) and carefully shape into balls. 6. Boil the dumplings in salted water. Once they float to the surface, let them cook another 30–40 seconds, then lift them out with a slotted spoon. Make the coating: put the honey, butter, and plain breadcrumbs in a small saucepan; set it over the heat and stir until the honey and butter melt. Drizzle the honey sauce over the dumplings, plate them up, and garnish with a couple of fresh cherries. Enjoy!
