Snickers Trifle
A dessert that wows! It's love at first spoonful. This Snickers trifle is the perfect treat for a get-together or a kids' party (just skip the liqueur), especially if those kids are teenagers — and plenty of grown-ups go for these layered little cups, too. Spoon them into individual glasses, or build one big trifle bowl. Rich, sweet, and absolutely delicious!

- For these pretty, crowd-pleasing trifles you'll need chocolate sponge cake. Bake it ahead of time, pick up ready-made layers at the store, or use a quick-bake cake mix. Once the cake is ready and everything else is prepped, start assembling. 1. Line a large flat baking sheet with parchment. Put the powdered sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring with a wooden spoon or spatula, until the sugar melts and starts to caramelize. Take the pan off the heat, stir in the salted peanuts, then pour the mixture out onto the parchment-lined sheet. Let the caramel set for about half an hour. Once it's hard, break the peanut brittle into large shards; set aside a quarter of them to decorate the finished trifles, and chop the rest finely. 2. In a mixer bowl, combine the heavy cream and the chocolate liqueur (about 1/4 cup / 60 ml — optional). Whip to soft peaks. 3. Slice the Snickers bars thin, however you like — half lengthwise, half crosswise. 4. Cut the sponge cake into layers or just small pieces. Into the bottom of your serving glasses, put a layer of cake, brush it with liqueur (if using), then add a layer of peanut butter, a layer of whipped cream, a drizzle of salted caramel sauce, and a scatter of the chopped peanut brittle and the smaller Snickers pieces (save the long pieces for the top). Keep alternating layers until the glasses are full, finishing with whipped cream. 5. Decorate the finished trifles with the reserved long Snickers pieces and peanut-brittle shards, then drizzle with caramel sauce. Serve right away, or cover and refrigerate for up to a day. Enjoy!
