Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
How to make a cheese sandwich? Prepare the products. I'm going to make one sandwich, I'm bringing the proportions for it. Choose high-quality, natural and well-melting cheese. This is the main condition. And what it will be — it's up to you. You can take a piece and rub it, you can use ready-made slicing or cut the cheese yourself. The classic recipe is made with cheddar. Even processed cheese will do, the one in the plates.
Step 2:
Bread in the classic recipe is taken for toast, like mine. But in general, such sandwiches can be prepared even with a loaf. Both white varieties and wholegrain flour are suitable, I don't know how it will turn out with rye, I haven't tried it. Remove the butter from the refrigerator in advance so that it becomes soft. Take a quality product, without vegetable fats. Spread both slices of bread with butter on one side.
Step 3:
Put a frying pan on a small fire. I have a non-stick coating and a thick bottom. Put a tablespoon of butter in a frying pan. Melt it. I always add a little vegetable oil to the butter, then it does not burn when frying.
Step 4:
Put one piece of bread in the pan with butter down. Put cheese on it, grated or in plates. Cover the pan with a lid, make the smallest fire. Wait for the moment when the cheese starts to melt.
Step 5:
When this happens, cover it with a second piece, but already put it with oil up. Lightly press the piece with a spatula on top so that the cheese sticks to the bread.
Step 6:
Check the piece of bread that is in the pan — if it is browned, then carefully turn the sandwich over and fry it to the same condition on the other side. Do not add fire, the oil starts burning quickly. Remove the finished sandwich from the pan and immediately serve it to the table while the cheese is hot.
Step 7:
If you used toast bread, then cut the sandwich diagonally into two parts — the classic sandwich is served this way. Bon appetit!
Any cheese is suitable for this dish — hard, semi-hard, soft, like mozzarella. The main thing is that it is delicious, high-quality, without milk fat substitutes and melts well.
