Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Prepare the ingredients. To prepare Indian pea soup Munk Dal, we will need: 1.7 liters of water; 200 g of dried peas; 200 g of pumpkin; 1 carrot; 50 g of melted butter; 20 g of fresh ginger root; ground coriander; turmeric; wig; 1 tsp cumin and salt.
Step 2:
Rinse the peas thoroughly until the water becomes clear. Pour a large amount of hot water over the peas for 5 hours. Then drain the water, and rinse the peas again.
Step 3:
Peel the ginger root and grate it on a fine grater or finely chop it.
Step 4:
Pour the peas into the pan, add ginger, coriander, paprika and turmeric and half of the melted butter.
Step 5:
Pour cold water into the pan.
Step 6:
Put the pan on the stove. Bring to a boil over high heat. Then reduce the heat and cook at a low boil for 1 hour, periodically removing the foam.
Step 7:
Peel the pumpkin and cut into small cubes.
Step 8:
Peel the carrots and also cut into cubes.
Step 9:
Add carrots and pumpkin to the pot. Cook for about 30 minutes more until the peas are ready. It should boil well.
Step 10:
Heat the remaining butter in a frying pan. Add cumin. Fry on low heat for 1-2 minutes.
Step 11:
Add salt to the soup and mix. Add the fried cumin to the soup, mix.
Step 12:
Turn off the heat, cover the pan with a lid and let it brew for 5 minutes. Enjoy your meal!

And I think that everyone, if they wish, can find a dish that they will like.
I have never cooked anything Indian before, as I am more focused on Russian and European cuisine. But I really liked the pea dal. That's why I'm sharing the recipe with you.
