  • I recommend giving this chicken and corn soup a try. The recipe comes from China, and Chinese food has always been known for its inventiveness. Cut the chicken breast lengthwise into four strips, then cut each strip crosswise into several small pieces. Set a skillet over the heat and get the oil hot. Add the chicken pieces and sauté, stirring, for about 4-5 minutes. Add the green onion, garlic, and bell pepper, and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Then add the pieces of corn cob, pour in the broth, and bring to a boil. Stir in the canned corn, chili sauce, salt, and wine. Simmer over low heat, stirring, for another 5 minutes. In a separate bowl, dissolve the starch in a little water and stir it into the soup. Bring it back to a boil — the soup should thicken now. Add the chopped tomatoes, season with pepper, and let it finish cooking for another couple of minutes. Before serving, sprinkle the soup with parsley and cilantro. Your chicken and corn soup is ready. Enjoy.
