Cooking method
Fruits and vegetables never leave the Cuban table. They are eaten both in their natural form and in the form of salads. I present to you a variant of fruit and meat salad.
I take a head of lettuce and separate a couple of beautiful leaves from it. The rest is finely chopped. I cut the ham into cubes and add green peas to it. I mix everything up. I peel the grapefruit and cut it across the slices in small pieces. I add to the salad, ham and peas, mix everything well and pour the sauce over it. For the sauce, mix mayonnaise with mustard, lemon juice, sour cream or cream, white wine, pepper, salt, and whisk until smooth. I add finely chopped greens, a clove of garlic, finely chopped capers and pickles.
I put whole lettuce leaves on the bottom of the salad bowl, a mixture of sauce, ham, peas and grapefruit on top. I put the salad in the refrigerator. And after 20 minutes it can be served on the table.
